Grace Kidz Privacy Policy

Grace Kidz is the parent app for the preschool and children's ministry of Grace Church of North Brunswick, New Jersey ("we," "us"). This policy explains what information the app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read by parents, not lawyers.
Who Uses the App
The app is used by parents and by our teachers and staff. Children do not use the app themselves. Parents create and control all information about their child. Although the app is not directed at children and is therefore not subject to COPPA, we voluntarily follow its principles for any child information a parent shares with us.
What We Collect
- Your account: your name, email address, phone number, and password (stored in hashed form; we never see it).
- Your child's profile, provided by you: first name, birthday month, class assignment, and an optional avatar. You control whether your child appears on the class roster other parents in the class can see.
- Messages: what you write in your private thread with your child's teacher and in class announcement channels.
- Calendar responses: your RSVPs to school events.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos (beyond an avatar you choose to add), or anything from other apps on your phone.
How We Use It
- To run the app: sign you in, show your class calendar, and deliver messages between you and your child's teacher.
- To notify you about school events and messages, if you turn notifications on.
- To keep the school's records of enrollment and event attendance.
We do not sell your information. We do not show ads. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Who Processes It for Us
Like most apps, we rely on a few trusted services to make the app work. They process data only on our behalf:
- Supabase hosts our database and sign-in system.
- Stream powers the chat messages.
- Google Firebase delivers push notifications, when enabled.
How Long We Keep It
Your information stays in your account while your family is enrolled. When you delete your account, your profile, your children's profiles, and your data are permanently removed from our systems.
Your Choices
- Delete your account anytime in the app under Settings, Delete Account. Deletion is permanent.
- Hide your child from the class roster under Settings, Manage Children.
- Turn off notifications in your phone's settings.
- Ask us anything about your data at the contact below and we will help.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted by role (parents see only their own family; teachers see only their class), and sensitive actions are logged.
Changes to This Policy
If we make meaningful changes, we will update this page and note the new date at the top.
